Imparting an Understanding of Music.
The Purpose of the Foundation.

ART MENTOR FOUNDATION LUCERNE supports institutions and projects which promote the understanding of new music. It is in addition involved in the preservation and improvement of access to and new discovery of works of all eras and for the imparting of new technical and interpretive knowledge.  

Likewise the Foundation finances academies, workshops and master classes. It helps young professional musicians, conductors and composers and promotes the meeting with personalities (conductors, composers, soloists).

The Foundation supports professional orchestras and special ensembles in structural and technical matters. In this way it makes possible the acquisition and maintenance of instruments and provides financial support for the expansion of positions, acquisition of sheet music and furnishing of practice rooms.

The Foundation promotes audience-appropriate and innovative imparting of musical contents. It helps orchestras and ensembles in the realization of music educational projects.

The Foundation may initiate competitions and give out awards.

The Foundation is involved primarily in projects which impact in a larger context and have a long-term perspective. It has as its focus works which are otherwise financially difficult to realize.
